Gaisberg Classic Car Race 25.-27. May 2017

Oldtimer close up

Every year in the early summer, when sporty cars, shiny oldtimers and loud rattling meet the city, then it is time again: the Gaisbergrennen (Gaisberg Classic Car Race) has started again. This year, it is already taking place for the 15th time. Everyone in Salzburg can take part in the event and watch the lovingly maintained classics of the street up close.

Presentation and City Grand Prix

On Thursday 25 May, the cars will be presented at the Residenzplatz from 1 pm onwards. Sufficient time to look at one or the other car more closely before the start of the City Grand Prix takes place at 3 pm. The almost 2-kilometer-long route reaches from the Staatsbrücke to the Karolinenbrücke and runs along the old town side directly on the river Salzach – a great setting for the drivers as well as the spectators! The course is driven 5 times by the participants.

Gaisberg race

On Friday 26 May, the oldtimers turn their rounds on the Gaisberg, starting from 8.30 am and from 2 pm. On Saturday 27 May, a race will be held on the Salzburgring (starting at 8.30 am) and once again a ride to the Gaisberg (starting at 2 pm). The award ceremony will end the 3-day event and will this year take place in Hangar-7.
The exact program and all instructions for participation in the race can be found on the homepage of the Salzburg Rallye Club.
