The atmosphere of the minimalist and light-flooded building by the Munich architect team Friedrich Hoff Zwinck is impressive. When it was built in 2001 emphasis was placed on integrating the 19th century water tower into the plans. This project was clearly a success for this successful team of architects.

National and international exhibits of the classical modern, contemporary art since the end of the Second World War and contemporary art are shown at the Modern Art Museum all year. When you then visit Cafe M32 for refreshments you will be presented with a breathtaking view across the entire old town. From the top of the mountain Mönchsberg you look down on the church domes and spires, but also to the Fortress Hohensalzburg and many other sights.
