Sightseeing along the subway in Vienna – U1

Our two Vienna hotels IMLAUER Vienna and Nestroy Vienna are each only a 3 minutes’ walk from two subway lines. This gives you an excellent connection to the city and you will get quickly and comfortably to the sights of the city. We show you which attractions you can reach with the subway U1 (red line). Starting at the station “Nestroyplatz”, you will find numerous sights of Vienna in the driving direction of “Leopoldau” as well as in the driving direction of “Reumannplatz”.

Take the U1 towards “Leopoldau” and you are in one stop at the “Praterstern” and one of Vienna’s most popular sights: the Vienna Prater and the Giant Ferris Wheel of Vienna. Here you can have fun with roller coasters, mirror cabinets and ghost trains. A ride with the famous Giant Ferris Wheel cannot be missed. An additional attraction is the Vienna Planetarium with interesting demonstrations. A little further back in the Prater you will find the famous Schweizerhaus, where you can eat delicious meals in the beer garden. Afterwards the actual Prater area starts with long-running avenues and forests, just right for a walk or a jogging round in the morning.

One more stop in the direction of “Leopoldau” is the Danube Island, in between the two arms of the Danube. This is one of the most important recreation areas of the Viennese, where you can go cycling, swimming, running or walking. If you want to explore the Viennese soul, you can make yourself comfortable and watch the colorful hustle and bustle.
