The Ringstraße in Vienna

Once around the city centre – on the Ringstraße in Vienna

A tour of Ringstraße in Vienna is probably the best way to get to know the city. The Ringstrße shows you buldings in the “Historicism style” which reflects neo-gothic, neo-renaissance and neo-baroque. A round matter that will delight you. You can also walk under shady trees most of the way that give the Ring green accents.

Once around the Ringstraße and around the city centre

Depart on your tour from Julius-Raab-Platz. Then take Stubenring past the government building. This connects to Parkring past the park. From Schubertring, over Kärntner Ring and then onto Opernring, where the State Oper awaits, you will come to Burgring. This is where you will find the Burggarten, the New Hofburg, Heldenplatz and Maria-Theresien-Platz. Continue on Dr. Karl Renner-Ring, where you can admire the parliament and the Volksgarten. Burgtheater, Rathausplatz and the University are your next destinations.

When you see the building of the former stock exchange on Schottenring, you are almost at the end of Ringstraße at Ringturm. It was build at the end of the 19th century and is one of the most beautiful buildings on the Ringstraße.

Of course you can also ride along the Ringstraße in Vienna with the ring tram, a tour you will not soon forget.
