What you can look forward to during your apprenticeship
In your first two years of training, you will learn how to deal with guests and how to look after them:
- Advice on menu and beverage selection
- Professional serving (flambéing, filleting, carving, etc.)
- Covering tables and boards
- Organization of banquets and receptions
In the following two years, you will learn everything you ever wanted to know about the kitchen:
- Plan menus, calculate the quantity of ingredients required, calculate prices for the menu
- Buying, receiving and correctly storing food
- Prepare the workplace (“post”) and prepare the required tools
- Use different working techniques, cooking methods, work equipment and appliances
- Keep the post clean, clean equipment and tools after use
