A DAY FOR ALL MOTHERS

One more month, then it’s Mother’s Day again. This year, May 12 is the day on which we show our mothers our special love for them. Especially in these times of hardship, we should take every opportunity to be there for each other and show others how much we love them.

We have been celebrating Mother’s Day in Austria for almost 100 years, since 1924. Today, this day is often only seen from a commercial perspective. It is interesting to bear in mind that Mother’s Day originated in the women’s movement of the late 19. and early 20. century emerged. Quite simply to pay more attention to what mothers achieve and accomplish every day.

Tips for a successful day

Think about what you want to do at an early stage. Don’t stress yourself out by waiting until the last minute.

Score points with something personal. For example, a trip to your mother’s favorite place or give her the gift of a shopping trip to her favorite store.

Giving the gift of time together. The older you get, the more you enjoy spending time with your loved ones. In times of the pandemic, you have to get a little more creative. Outdoor activities are ideal here. Or several Mother’s Days with the individual family members.

For the sake of your mother and yourself, get tested just before Mother’s Day. So you can celebrate safely and completely relaxed.
