THE RIESNERALM IN THE SUMMER

The Riesneralm is a paradise for anyone who wants to enjoy summer in the mountains—and a true CoolCation. Whether you’re looking for fresh mountain air, spectacular views, or a relaxing day trip—here you’ll find everything a vacationer’s heart desires. At an altitude of about 1,800 meters above sea level, refreshing activities, magnificent mountain panoramas, and wonderful nature experiences await you.

It takes just over 20 minutes by car from the IMLAUER Hotel Schloss Pichlarn. The drive is pleasant and straightforward, and the ride up on the modern chairlifts already offers your first impressive panoramic views.

So Close to the Summit

Once you arrive at the Riesneralm, everyone can fulfill their dream of reaching the summit, because the hiking trail to the 1,922-meter-high peak is easily accessible even for less experienced hikers. The trail also offers a special feature: a barefoot trail to the summit.

Experience a completely new way of hiking and feel the path with your bare feet. A total of 19 stations lead you over spruce cones, wood chips, bark mulch, mud and earth hollows, granite slabs, torrent scree, wood in all variations and the natural alpine pasture soil to the summit.

Here, hiking becomes an experience for all the senses. Once you reach the top, you will be rewarded with magnificent views and summit bliss.

Once you’re back at the mountain station, you can take a refreshing dip in what is probably the world’s only Summit Pool —arguably the only one of its kind in the world. With a pleasant water temperature of 26°, a magnificent panoramic view in every direction awaits you! Showers and changing rooms are available, and if you don’t have a swimsuit with you, you can purchase one on site.

Herbal Nature Trail and Wild Bee Farm
Right at the midway station between the two chairlifts, you can learn all sorts of interesting facts about the natural world of the Styrian mountains along a 14-station herb trail and at a wild bee farm.
