When the leaves change color in autumn and the city is bathed in golden light, Salzburg becomes the venue for first-class festivals during the Salzburg Music Autumn. Once again, the city of Mozart lives up to its name as the music capital of the world and offers a diverse program: from atmospheric musical enjoyment to classical concerts and modern sound experiences.

Jazz & The City
October 16 – 19, 2025
In October, Salzburg will once again be the stage for first-class jazz, global groove and electronic music. For over 25 years now, the diverse and top-class festival has been inspiring audiences far beyond the boundaries of classical jazz and this year invites you to an unforgettable sound experience under the motto “The city sounds together“.
With free admission, established venues meet surprising pop-up performances in unusual locations, embedded in the unique backdrop of Salzburg’s historic old town. On October 15, 2025, an atmospheric pre-opening in the Old Town venues will give you a first taste of what’s to come.
Salzburg shows with Jazz & The City impressively demonstrates how tradition and modernity merge – and invites you to discover music in a new and boundless way.


Song City Salzburg
November 27-30, 2025
If you love singing and especially appreciate Franz Schubert’s songs in his many interpretations, November in Salzburg has a special cultural highlight in store for you. Under the direction of the well-known singer Julian Prégardien and in collaboration with the Camerata, Salzburg becomes the song city.
The “Liedstadt” project, which has already taken place in Hamburg and Berlin, among other places, aims to bring the Lied to where the people are. In 30 concerts and at 20 locations and pop-ups throughout Salzburg, sacred music as well as folklore, pop music and classical compositions can be heard under the motto “Schubert in Salzburg – from dawn to dusk”.
A unique project that combines genres, cultures and times to create a special listening experience and gives the song a new stage.
AutumnTones 2025
November 21-23, 2025
Since 2009, the Chamber Music Festival HerbstTöne has been enriching Salzburg’s cultural landscape and giving the fall a fine musical highlight.
With a carefully curated program under the artistic direction of Lukas Hagen, the festival is dedicated to the great works of chamber music literature as well as exciting new discoveries.
A special feature of HerbstTöne is the close collaboration between teachers and students of the Mozarteum University. This unique constellation results in concerts that combine artistic excellence and youthful freshness.
The top-class ensembles inspire the audience with virtuosity, joy of playing and inspiring variety and invite them to experience the beauty of chamber music in all its facets.
