A fresh start for the IMLAUER Group in Styria

After the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, the world seemed to hold its breath. A crisis like this generation had never experienced before, fear and a feeling of powerlessness spread. The whole of society was affected and one lockdown followed the next.

Get out of the city and into nature – many people followed this motto to counteract their inner turmoil. Georg Imlauer was no different, a depressing situation for his family, company and the employees to whom he is committed. A mental reboot was necessary, so he and his brother went hiking in Styria. In the Enns Valley, up to the Tauplitz, with the massive Grimming before their eyes, peace and contentment returned. One evening, however, Georg Imlauer was shocked when he realized that he must have lost his wallet. After dinner, his smartphone rang and a receptionist from the IMLAUER Hotel Pitter Salzburg answered: “Mr. Imlauer, your wallet has been found, you can pick it up from the finders any time tomorrow.” When Georg Imlauer visited the finders the next day, no card, no banknote and not even a coin had been lost. The finders were so obliging, honest and sincere that Imlauer thought to himself: “A hotel and country estate here in the Enns Valley, with these wonderful people, that would be nice.”

Less than 2 weeks later, he was given the opportunity to take a look at Hotel Schloss Pichlarn in Ennstal and it was love at first sight. On January 1, 2021, the IMLAUER Group expanded and took over the IMLAUER Hotel Schloss Pichlarn.
