NEW SIGNATURE WINE AT IMLAUER
We are delighted to present a special new addition to our wine range: the new signature wine “Selektion IMLAUER”. Carefully selected and composed with great attention to detail, this Grüner Veltliner full of character comes from the traditional Domäne Wachau winery – a wine that stands for special enjoyment and wonderfully reflects our philosophy of sustainability and regionality.
As an Austrian company, it is important to us to give the variety and high quality of Austrian wine a special place in our hotels and restaurants and to present it to our international guests. It was therefore important to us to choose a wine that not only stands for Austria’s long and traditional wine culture, but also suits our establishments.
In a class of its own
The new Grüner Veltliner “Selektion IMLAUER” comes from one of Austria’s most famous wine regions, the Wachau. Viticulture has been practiced here for around 2000 years and the local soils are perfect for growing Grüner Veltliner.
With the Domäne Wachau winery, we have found a partner that combines the age-old craft of Austrian viticulture with innovative ideas and a sustainable concept to create a product that is both contemporary and full of tradition.
The focus here is on nature and the careful use of resources:

We spoke to junior manager Thomas Imlauer about the new signature wine at IMLAUER.
Why was the decision made to choose a new signature wine?
After 10 years, it was time for something new. The world of wine is constantly changing, and we always want to present our guests with something exciting and in tune with the times.
Can you introduce us to the new house wine from Domäne Wachau?
Specifically, it is a Grüner Veltliner Federspiel Terrassen, a classic. The wine was hand-picked with impressive attention to detail from the steepest terraces in the Wachau. A purist wine with plenty of spice and depth.
Is there a special story or inspiration behind this wine?
A wonderful wine trip to Domäne Wachau in Dürnstein prompted us to work more with this unique winery. The winery is considered one of the best winegrowers’ cooperatives in the world. Domäne Wachau has virtually reinvented itself – the revolution of an idea – a cooperative reorganized, redefined. Domäne Wachau has become a globally unique concept for a sustainable future in viticulture, traditional craftsmanship, maximum small-scale production with incomparable expertise from the winegrowers.
What dishes can you recommend the Grüner Veltliner “Selektion IMLAUER” with?
For classic Austrian cuisine, whether fried chicken, boiled beef or Wiener schnitzel.
Where can our guests enjoy this wine?
In all our restaurants from Salzburg to Styria, but also at the hotel bar in Vienna. It is also available in small bottles in the rooms of our hotels in Salzburg and Vienna.
