THE PLACE TO ENJOY
SHOPPING DE LUXE
Whether it’s a big shopping spree, well-known brand goods, bargain hunting or window shopping – Vienna offers a variety of well-equipped stores, shopping streets and shopping centers.
If you are looking for branded goods or traditional businesses, Vienna’s city center is the place to be. Here, shopping becomes a real experience. You can take a leisurely stroll and store between historic buildings and famous sights.
The classic shopping street
Kärntnerstraße has always been Vienna’s best-known shopping street, long before shopping became a leisure activity. Not only its perfect location in the middle of the city center, but also the good mix of global stores and high-quality individual providers make it so attractive.
Kärntnerstraße between the Vienna State Opera and St. Stephen’s Cathedral offers all the big brands such as Zara, H&M, Peek & Cloppenburg, Swarovski, Benetton, Swatch, Mango and many more. There are also plenty of cafés with guest gardens for a break in between.

The revival of a shopping paradise
The “Graben” begins at Stephansplatz. A boulevard that was once home to many purveyors to the imperial court. Some of these can still be found on the Graben and in the side streets branching off from it, such as the former court jeweler Heldwein or the Augarten porcelain manufactory.
At the end of the Graben is the traditional Meinl store, a delicatessen department store that is well worth a visit. You should also definitely take a look at the H&M flagship store on Graben. The building of a former furniture department store has been lovingly restored inside and conveys genuine Viennese charm from times gone by. Shopping is twice as much fun!
The new extra class
The “Golden Quarter” adjoins the Graben between Tuchlauben and Michaelertor. Numerous international high-end brand stores have set up shop here in recent years. Gucci, Prada, Louis Vuitton and Cartier are just a few of them.
If you don’t have the necessary change, you can definitely take a wonderful stroll here and enjoy the Viennese shopping flair.
By the way: all three streets are pedestrian zones and offer plenty of space. The shopping streets can be reached by subway lines U1 and U3 (Stephansplatz) and U2 and U4 (Karlsplatz/Oper).
